An impromptu jam session
at YJ's to entertain some friends. Joining the always amazing drum
juggernaut of Un-Ra was Jack Black on Sax, Pat Conway on Sax & Congas,
Mark Southerland on Sax and a Bass player as yet un-named (I forgot it-
sorry!). The
guys were fresh from an amazing gig at Kansas City's world famous jazz
haunt The Blue Room, and Arny was spot-on. He is an absolutely AWESOME
drummer, and was in top form for the night. Not bad for an old guy! (just
kidding Arny).
I only wish the
battery on my camera had not died after only four pictures though...
It was a hot set, and
YJ's filled up fast as they got to rolling. A truly satisfying way to
spend another beautiful evening on 18th Street. At this point
in space & time I think that perhaps
YJ's IS the heartbeat of the universe. |
